The Experience
You are about to go back to basics on this five day bushcraft outdoor skills and wilderness survival course. On this course you will be taught a range of skills that will enable you to survive in the wilderness. The duration time of the camp allows you to settle in to your routine of outdoor life and develop your skills and knowledge.
The course is split into two parts, the first for learning, the second for assessment. During the first part of the survival course you will learn lots of skills and be given time to practice each one. The second part which lasts between 24-30 hours is a scenariobased assessment where you will get the chance to show your new skills and knowledge.
After the course you will be sent a certificate and course report and you will find out whether or not you are ready to survive in the wilderness alone.
The skills you will learn include:
- Shelter building using natural materials and taking advantage of pre-existing natural shelter (caves, hollow, fallen trees)
- Firelighting and the use of fire to cook, keep warm and signalling for rescue
- Acquiring food from the wild and understanding survival nutritional needs
- Sourcing water and how to make it safe to use and store it
- Safe use of equipment including knives, saws and axes
- A range of navigation skills and signals to help you stay safe and survive including being able to tell the time and direction from natural indicators.

Vital Information
The minimum age for this course is 16. Please do not bring any food as it will be provided for you. Please let us know when you book the course if you have any dietary requirements, we can cater for all requirements as long as we know during the date booking process.
The Weather
This course is designed to help you survive in all weather conditions.
Session Length
This course lasts for five days and four full nights. It will start at 10am on the first day and typically finishes at around 4pm on the second day.
Numbers
This voucher is valid for one person to take the course on selected dates across the country. You will share the course with other participants.
Spectators
No spectators are allowed.
What To Wear
A full survival kit list will be provided once your wilderness survival course is booked and confirmed. The basic kit you will need to provide is: waterproof jacket & trousers, suitable footwear, knife, torch, billy can or cooking pot, drinking cup/mug and a water bottle. You will also need a sleeping bag, a bivi bag and a basha or tarp. Option to hire specific goods is available.
