Enjoy an exclusive falconry adventure in Wicklow with a private session for up to six people, led by your own dedicated falconer.
Program
1. Welcome
Start your day with complimentary tea or coffee on arrival.
2. Briefing
Your adventure begins with an informal talk about the sport of falconry. Visitors are encouraged to ask questions about falconry and birds of prey in general.
3. Hawk Walk
Next, head to a lightly wooded area in the countryside for a hands-on, photo-friendly flying session. Fly two or more Harris Hawks from the trees to your gloved fist over a one-hour walk covering nearly a mile of flat grassland. Perfect for great photos!
4. Falcon Show
Return to the centre where the falconer will demonstrate flying a falcon to the lure. This spectacular display is even more thrilling in a good wind. You'll also have the chance to hold a Lanner Falcon and take photos.
5. Other Birds
Experience the flight of a Turkey Vulture and/or Black Kite, offering even more photo opportunities.
6. Owl Show
Conclude your adventure with a photo session featuring our endearing owls. Get up close and intimate for some memorable pictures.
This activity wraps up in time for you to enjoy a bar lunch at the Woodenbridge Hotel, Ireland’s oldest inn.
For the Private Falconry Adventure a minimum age of 16 years is required. Visitors by booking only. Visitors engage in activities at own risk. Sorry, no dogs or pets! Please note that activities are weather dependent. Visitors are requested to arrive on time. The experience is only valid during the weekdays.
The Private Falconry Adventure is dependant on the weather and in extreme conditions it maybe necessary to rearrange the booking.
The experience will last about 2 hours 30 minutes.
The Private Falconry Adventure is a private session for up to six people, and will not be shared with other participants.
Spectators are not allowed, but are instead encouraged to purchase additional vouchers to partake in this unique falconry experience.
Please dress accordingly for the weather. We advise comfortable outdoor attire and comfortable walking shoes for your Private Falconry adventure.
Private Falconry Adventure is available during the weekdays only.
